Michelle Obama’s Let’s Move! Drive in the Digital Ecosystem

By Lillian Williams

Over the past three decades, childhood obesity rates in America have tripled, and today, nearly one in three children in America are overweight or obese. The numbers are even higher in African American and Hispanic communities, where nearly 40% of the children are overweight or obese.”

That’s a description of the obesity-related health challenge in the United States, as described on Michelle Obama’s Let’s Move! website.

We know that Let’s Move! is  the first lady’s  high-profile effort to draw attention to the problem of childhood obesity.

But AllThingsD.com, a website devoted to news of technology and media, reports that Michelle Obama and Late Night TV host Jimmy Fallon have struck upon yet another way to highlight this education initiative.  A Fallon/Obama video is climbing steadily in the digital media ecosystem.

Their YouTube video has captured 14 million views alone during the past week.  Take a look.
