Sloan Consortium next month will present its 2011 Effective Practice Awards to innovators in online education at the 17th Annual Sloan-C International Conference on Online Learning in Orlando, Florida.
“These practices were selected for recognition because they provide evidence of innovation and replicability,” according to a Sloan press statement. “The practices advance the goals of access, learning effectiveness, faculty and student satisfaction and scalability.”
The award winners are:
- bPortfolios: Blogging for Reflective Practice, by David Wicks, Andrew Lumpe, Henry Algera, Kris Gritter, Helen Barrett and Janiess Sallee, Seattle Pacific University
- Continual Reinforcement and Practice Enhance Learner Success, by Jen Krueger and Kolleen Barnes, Cuyahoga Community College
- Open Content and Courses: Food Safety Resources for Developing Countries, by Karen Vignare, Gwyn Shelle, Sunnie Kim, Deepa Thiagarajan, Leslie Bourquin, Michigan State University
- UCF’s Online Faculty Readiness Assessment, by Tom B. Cavanagh, University of Central Florida
